This is going to be an AMAZING weekend across the western US. Read through for next weekend's outlook as well. If you are looking for the absolute freshest snow for the weekend, the Central and Southern Rocky Mountains, who have been targeted by the heaviest snow in recent weeks, are looking like the best bet:

If you are looking for the absolute freshest snow for the weekend, you want to head to:

#1 - Taos, NM: The most recent snow, falling through Friday morning, could see a foot or more fresh snow across the region by Friday morning!

#2 - Colorado: The most/ best recent snowfall. With 4 feet+ in the last week and 2 feet in recent days, including over a half foot as of this morning, Aspen-Snowmass and other areas nearby are looking like a great choice!

#3 - Southern Idaho through Jackson Hole/ Big Sky. 1/2 to 1 foot of fresh in the last week... Friday and Sunday we expect some snow flurries and more clouds than the rest will see...

ALL AREAS = sunny this weekend, Colorado = #2 in freshest snow, but the #1 winner in terms of snow amounts + fresh snow!

Next weekend (22nd - 24th) we expect for snow to be falling from Tahoe through Utah, and Colorado as the pattern becomes a bit unsettled again. There may be some snow level issues. Storms will likely be targeting the central Rocky Mountain areas of Utah and Colorado, but impact Tahoe initially and with the heaviest snow (and some snow level issues). So for now, Tahoe is looking best for next weekend.
