Updated Friday February 03, 2023, at 6:10am MST

TODAY - Snow is expected mainly by later this afternoon and evening as a weak storm brushes the area, so not much is expected, but some light accumulation..

The rest of this weekend - The next shot for snow is Saturday night and Sunday, and this system is stronger with the center of the low passing close by for maximum forcing and cold air, so expect a moderate dump of snow to a possible powder day on Sunday.

Next week - Monday and Tuesday (6-7 Feb) expect high pressure ridging, then a low pressure system moves through mid next week and it should be good for a moderate shot of new snow. Late next week we see another break with sunshine under high pressure, and this may last into that weekend (11-12 Feb). More storms move in after as we move past mid-February, most with a tendency to drop south with the bulk of their energy. I will be watching.

LONGER RANGE: A low pressure system moves through mid next week and it should be good for a moderate shot of new snow. Late next week we see another break with sunshine under high pressure, and this may last into that weekend (11-12 Feb). More storms move in after as we move past mid-February, most with a tendency to drop south with the bulk of their energy. I will be watching. Chris Manly/ Meteorologist
