POWDER DAY snow totals will fall on Sunday...

SUMMARY and SHORT RANGE: After some heavy snow on the order of about 1 foot at the Bogus Basin base on Wednesday and mainly Thursday, nice and fresh snow, today expect no real snow but clearing to mostly sunny skies and cold temperatures not reaching 20f at the base. The next good snowfall arrives on Sunday, colder and snowy all day but mainly later day, light snow on a cold Monday, then a clearing trend for Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by some clouding up and significant snow (could be another 10+ inch to 1 foot+ of snow between Thu-Sat) late next week/ weekend (8-10th Dec) as a strong system moves in with good dynamics and moisture.

LONGER RANGE: Large-scale low-pressure (for large and cold storms) may start shifting eastward and east Pacific high-pressure ridging set up for the week of Dec 12-16. But first, cold systems crossing more land than water may brush the area moving south for mostly light to maybe moderate snow, though we could see a rogue system dump more if it breaks from the main flow and cuts south then east, pulling up more water from the Pacific. Either way we should see some light base-building ands at worst preservation of the snowpack that week. High pressure ridging may dominate for a week or so after the 15th of December (late that week and weekend, onward, with potential for a return to snowy conditions before the Christmas holiday.
