This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Relative humidity levels as low as 20 to 25 percent along with
northwest afternoon winds gusting to around 20 mph will lead to
areas of elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon. Locations
of greatest concern would be areas where Spring green-up is lagging
and grasses remain sufficiently dry enough to burn.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.

After a warm-up this weekend into early next week, we could see a
potential for areas of frost or near-freezing temperatures again by
early Wednesday and Thursday. If you have sensitive outdoor plants,
you will want to monitor the forecast through the coming days.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS IN SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA TODAY...

Dry air will build into the region today, with afternoon relative
humidity levels falling as low as 20 to 25 percent. While stronger
northwest to north winds will be seen during the period of higher
relative humidity in the morning, afternoon gusts to around 20 mph
will lead to elevated fire weather concerns in areas where Spring
green-up is lagging. The lowest relative humidity levels will be
seen from mid-afternoon through sunset, generally between 3 pm and
8 pm CDT.

Check burning restrictions and fire danger levels and consult with
fire officials before burning.
