This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Southwest to west winds gusting 30-45 mph are expected through this
evening. Winds combined with low relative humidity will result in
Very High to Extreme Grassland Fire Danger. Please avoid burning
outdoors today.

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this
afternoon and evening. Greatest risk is damaging wind gusts to 60
mph.

Winds tonight become northwesterly and increase to 55-65 mph with
isolated gusts to 75 mph possible. High profile vehicles may
struggle, and damage to trees and power lines are possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

There is growing confidence that a winter storm will impact the
region, bringing a risk of moderate to heavy snow and strong winds.
The exact storm track and resulting snowfall totals are still
uncertain. Continue to monitor forecasts closely and be prepared to
adjust travel plans.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations
  between 6 and 16 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50
  mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota, and east
  central and southeast South Dakota.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/2 mile due to falling
  and/or blowing snow at times. Travel could be very difficult to
  impossible. Whiteout conditions may make travel extremely
  dangerous or impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the
  Monday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
