This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper
Michigan and western Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Potentially historic blizzard is expected late tonight through
Monday night. This will create treacherous and potentially life-
threatening travel conditions and could result in tree damage and
power outages. Snow amounts of 1-3 feet are expected (locally up to
4 feet north- central and eastern U.P.) with wind speeds of 35-65
mph. Strongest winds are expected late Sunday afternoon into
Monday in the Keweenaw Peninsula and along the lakeshores of Lake
Superior.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

Potentially historic blizzard is expected late tonight through
Monday night. This will create treacherous and potentially life-
threatening travel conditions and could result in tree damage and
power outages. Snow amounts of 1-3 feet are expected (locally up to
4 feet north- central and eastern U.P.) with wind speeds of 35-65
mph. Strongest winds are expected late Sunday afternoon into
Monday in the Keweenaw Peninsula and along the lakeshores of Lake
Superior.

Large waves on the Great Lakes increase the risk of beach erosion
and lakeshore flooding for all Lake Superior lakeshores Sunday night
and Monday.

CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Minor lakeshore flooding expected with wave heights of up
  to 17 feet possible.

* WHERE...Gogebic County.

* WHEN...From 10 PM Sunday to 4 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Some water on low lying roads and property along the
  lakeshore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Residents on or near the shore should take appropriate action to
protect property from rising water levels.

...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM SUNDAY TO 7 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations
  between 1 and 3 feet. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Gogebic County.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Sunday to 7 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be treacherous and potentially
  life-threatening. Widespread blowing snow and heavy snowfall rates
  will significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down
  tree branches and result in power outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
  hour are expected much of the day Sunday. Strongest winds late
  Sunday afternoon into Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle.
