This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper
Michigan and western Upper Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a high swim risk along the Lake Michigan beaches of
Schoolcraft County today. See the latest Surf Zone Forecast and
Beach Hazards Statement for additional details.

A hot and humid airmass is expected over Upper Michigan today and
tonight. Those sensitive to heat, especially those without
effective cooling and/or hydration, will be impacted. See the
latest Heat Advisories for additional details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

A hot and humid airmass is expected over Upper Michigan Monday.
Those sensitive to heat, especially those without effective
cooling and/or hydration, may be impacted.

There is a high swim risk along the Lake Michigan beaches of

Thunderstorms are possible Monday and Monday evening. Some of the
storms could be strong to severe.

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 101.

* WHERE...Baraga, Iron, Marquette, Gogebic, Ontonagon, and Southern
  Houghton Counties.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
