Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service Marquette MI 353 PM EDT Mon Mar 16 2026 MIZ001>007-009>014-084-085-172000- Keweenaw-Ontonagon-Northern Houghton-Baraga-Marquette-Alger-Luce- Gogebic-Iron-Dickinson-Menominee-Delta-Southern Schoolcraft- Southern Houghton-Northern Schoolcraft- 353 PM EDT Mon Mar 16 2026 /253 PM CDT Mon Mar 16 2026/ This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Upper Michigan and western Upper Michigan. .DAY ONE...Tonight Potentially historic blizzard continues into tonight across portions of central and eastern Upper Michigan. This will create treacherous and potentially life-threatening travel conditions and could result in tree damage and power outages. Additional snow amounts of 6 to 12 inches are expected. Wind will continue to gust to 40-50 mph in the Keweenaw Peninsula and along the Lake Superior shoreline through around midnight, then gradually diminish towards Tuesday morning. Large waves on the Great Lakes increase the risk of beach erosion and lakeshore flooding for all Lake Superior lakeshores through this evening. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday No hazardous weather is expected at this time. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
