This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Lake effect snow showers and gusty winds will linger through the
early morning hours, then taper off. See ongoing Winter Weather
Advisory and Winter Storm Warning for details.

Bitterly cold wind chills continue this morning. See ongoing Cold
Weather Advisory for details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Accumulating lake enhanced snow along the northwest Lower Michigan
shoreline counties likely early Wednesday.

Coldest air of the season expected to move into northern Michigan
Thursday night into Friday...with the cold expected to last
through the weekend.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected.

* WHERE...Alcona, Crawford, Iosco, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Ogemaw,
  Oscoda, Otsego, Roscommon, and Wexford Counties.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could
  result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
  Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one
  inch.

* WHERE...Cheboygan and Crawford Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.

During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally
heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can
also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather,
visibility, and road conditions.
