This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Wind chills well below zero are likely tonight across much of
northern lower and all of eastern upper Michigan tonight into

Accumulating lake effect snow will impact parts of western
Chippewa County through this evening. See the latest Winter

Ice jams are possible on area rivers and may result in localized
flooding.

Well below zero wind chill temperatures are expected again
Thursday night into Friday.

...EXTREME COLD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 25 below zero
  possible, with air temperatures generally 5 to 15 below zero. The
  coldest wind chills will favor the interior areas away from Lake
  Huron.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...From this evening through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if
  precautions are not taken.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
