This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight

Heat and humidity will persist today, especially toward central
Iowa where the heat index will peak near 100 degrees this
afternoon and evening.

Scattered thunderstorms gradually diminish in east central to
northeast Iowa into this evening. A few storms may produce brief
gusty winds. Additional thunderstorms develop late overnight into
Friday morning in northeast to northern Iowa. A few strong storms
may produce gusty winds.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Late season heat and humidity will generally persist from
Friday into early next week, but with some relative breaks at
times.

Additional thunderstorm chances are forecast at times from
Sunday into early next week. Any severe weather potential during
that time will be assessed in the coming days.

Spotter activation is not anticipated.
