This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Elevated fire weather conditions are forecast across Huerfano, Las
Animas and Baca Counties due to gusty winds and marginal humidity
values near 15 percent. Caution is advised with any outdoor
burning activities this afternoon.

Showers and high elevation snow will spread along the Continental
Divide, northeast into the Palmer Divide this afternoon and evening.
Spotty snow along the Continental Divide of an inch or two may be
possible. A couple of lightning strikes are possible along the
Continental Divide. Showers will spread south across the Plains
late tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

An upper storm system will move across southern Colorado Tuesday and
Wednesday. Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and higher
elevation snow is forecast Tuesday, with colder air spreading
into the region Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This will
bring snow levels down to 5000 to 6000 feet by Wednesday morning.
Several inches of snow are forecast across the Mountains, and into
northern El Paso County Tuesday night and Wednesday. Heavy, wet
snow on trees and power lines could cause damage and power
outages. Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for the
mountains and northern El Paso County. Precipitation will come to
an end Wednesday evening.

Very cold air will spread across the Plains by Thursday morning with
temperatures in the 20s and lower 30s.  Precautions should be taken
to protect sensitive vegetation and exposed sprinkler.

A few light snow showers will be possible over the Central Mountains
Thursday through Sunday.  A few thunderstorms may be possible on
Saturday afternoon and evening on the Plains.

PM MDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12
  inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Eastern Sawatch Mountains Above 11000 Feet, Northwestern
  Fremont County Above 8500 Feet, Western Mosquito Range/East
  Chaffee County Above 9000 Feet, and Western Mosquito Range/East
  Lake County Above 11000 Feet.

* WHEN...From noon Tuesday to 6 PM MDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult.
  The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and
  Wednesday morning commutes.
