...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THURSDAY TO 7 AM
PST FRIDAY ABOVE 8000 FEET...

* WHAT...Wet snow above 8000 feet. Snow accumulations up to 6 inches
  above 8000 feet and up to 4 inches between 7500 and 8000 feet.
  Winds gusting as high as 90 mph along the highest peaks and 30 to
  40 mph for Sierra communities. On Lake Tahoe, wind gusts up to 40
  mph with wave heights of 2 to 4 feet.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 1 PM Thursday to 7 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel may be very difficult, especially across mountain
  passes such as Donner Pass, Carson Pass, and Ebbetts Pass. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening
  commutes. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation may transition to rain by late
  Thursday morning before returning to snow by late Thursday
  afternoon.
