For the Winter Storm Watch, the strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. The highest snowfall totals of 5 to 9 inches will be north of Highway 29, lesser amounts south. Visibility may be limited at times due to blowing and drifting snow. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for areas across northern Wisconsin. Strong winds are expected with periodic gusts up to 40 to 50 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect across much of central to east- central Wisconsin. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Thursday Hazardous travel conditions will continue Friday morning from overnight snowfall. Gusty winds will continue Friday, gusting to 40 to 45 mph, causing rapid reductions in visibility due to patchy blowing and drifting snow. Hazardous travel is expected for the Friday morning commute, especially north of Highway 29 where the greatest snowfall is expected. A major snow storm event is expected Saturday night through Monday with a 70 to 95% probability of snowfall amounts of at least 12 inches across the area, accompanied by strong winds. Those with travel plans, including air travel, should monitor the weather closely and make alternative plans.
