From our weather forecast: "...Snow showers descend into Aspen this evening and overnight, with some accumulating snow expected then, with pretty good accumulation on the mountain. Snow levels will not be an issue at all with this cold system. This storm is currently dropping snow across Montana and Wyoming, and is now expected to cut a bit further west and south than previously expected, so I have upped the forecast snowfall totals for Aspen, and expect close to a half foot for the upper mountain areas. Areas along the divide will see near a foot of snow by tomorrow morning!
On Thursday expect fast clearing in the much drier and COLD airmass, with a nice and more complete layer of "winter" covering the Roaring Fork Valley. Again, it is still pre-Halloween and we are already looking at cold soil and a good shot of this latest round of snow to stick around much longer than usual. Expect great and unusual winter-like scenery on Thursday under the sun in Aspen!"
