...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...South Central Mountains, including the Ruidoso area burn
  scars.

* WHEN...Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - A backdoor front moving into the region combined with above
    average moisture will result in the development of showers
    and thunderstorms across the Sacramento Mountains midday
    Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall amounts of around 1 inch
    could fall on the Ruidoso area burn scars Thursday afternoon
    resulting in a higher risk for flash flooding and debris
    flows on and downstream of the burn scars.
