* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bond
  IL, Clinton IL, Fayette IL, Madison IL, Marion IL, Monroe IL,
  Randolph IL, Saint Clair IL and Washington IL and Missouri,
  including the following areas, Crawford MO, Franklin MO, Iron MO,
  Jefferson MO, Madison MO, Reynolds MO, Saint Francois MO, Saint
  Louis City MO, Saint Louis MO, Sainte Genevieve MO and Washington
  MO.

* WHEN...Through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected
    through Saturday night, with the heaviest rainfall and
    greatest threat of flash flooding this evening into early
    overnight. Moderate to major river flooding is possible in
    response to heavy rainfall amounts.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of eastern and
central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Thunderstorms are expected across portions of the area today and
tonight. A few thunderstorms could be severe this afternoon and
evening with large hail the primary threat. However, there is a
conditional threat of tornadoes and damaging winds in southeastern
Missouri and southwestern Illinois.

Periods of thunderstorms will heavy rainfall are expected to persist,
with the greatest chance of flash flooding this evening into early
overnight in across southeastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Moderate to major river flooding is possible as a result of heavy
rainfall.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night into
Thursday.

  Kaskaskia River at Carlyle.

River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast
precipitation for the next 24 hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  flood.  Shelters and roads within Route 66 State Park are also
  flooded at this level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 5.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    early Saturday afternoon and continue rising to a crest of
    37.9 feet Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    38.9 feet on 06/11/1945.

  and at Gravois Bluffs Blvd.  This impact level may vary depending
  on the crest difference of the Mississippi River at St. Louis from
  30.8 ft, the March 2008 crest.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 1.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    Saturday evening and continue rising to a crest of 33.6 feet
    Tuesday evening.
  - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    33.0 feet on 05/03/1983.
